Without Sky

skypost

It’s been an interesting week, one in which I’ve learnt that if you’re going to have a product get it from the right people.

The problem, my sky+ HD box failed. Reason unknown after going through the technical support provided by Sky. Now that’s fair enough all I need now is an engineer to come out and replace the box its in warranty and all I need is a replacement. No one else is the building has come around asking if I’m also experiencing sky problems as they are, so it isn’t a problem with the shared dish.

Update your bookmarks!

As you may or may not have noticed things have changed, I’ve moved on from Hunter’s Home.co.uk and arrived at Alex Older.com. This means changes to the URL and the RSS Feed URL so please update now. Don’t worry about new email addresses, the old domain is still there so if you have my email it’ll still work.

You can probably see that I’m still finishing off the design but I’m also working on a new blog post to hopefully sum up 2009 so far and what’s been going on. It’s been a great year so hopefully I can get that across!

Domains

If you follow me on Twitter you’ll be aware that I’ve recently moved my hosting over to (mt). I made the move after hearing from so many people how great the service was and for $20 a month it was cheap as chips and being a student the less it costs the better.

With it being so cheap I thought I’d even celebrate the occasion by buying myself a domain name. Thankfully AlexOlder.com was available so for $5 I got hold of it and set all my (mt) stuff up under it. This brought the number of domains I own up to a grand total of 9. It’s ok though, 1 of them is for a friend’s site I designed and offered to host and another is for the girlfriend’s University society.

Back in Britain

I’ve made it back in slightly sun burnt fashion to the UK after a week away in France with the family and girlfriend.

I thought it was a good chance to try out the WordPress app from the iTunes store on my iPhone which I was able to unlock just before I left using my Mac after an hour or 2 of my main windows PC failing to make it work. Any of you following my tweets may have noted the time it took.

Anyway, I’m back in the UK and am currently heading from Stanstead in to London to spend a day being a tourist before heading back to Bristol. I will put a better blog post in over the weekend showing off the entire holiday and there also some much needed WDC updates will also appear.
